Always include the version of Windows in your posts.
What version of BIOS do you have now? The latest version is A16 which is from 2011:

Why do you want to update BIOS? Keep in mind there's always a chance that a BIOS update will fail and brick your motherboard. So there needs to be a good reason to update BIOS.
Are you trying to run the update from a DOS-bootable USB stick or from inside Windows?
How much free space is available on the hard drive?

There are two different Studio XPS 435 models - the 435 MT and the 435 t/9000. They use different BIOSes.
If you have the 435t/9000 (this is a large tower system)
www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
If you have the 435 MT (this is a black minitower system).
www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails
