philips dvd+/- rw 8801
I have a dimension 3000 w/2gb mem,radeon x1550 graphics card, running windows xp. I cannot get my dvd player/burner to work. It used to be that I would insert a dvd and dell cineplayer would open automatically,now the computer doesn't open any dvd's ,but,it reads cd's. how can i fix this problem? Thank You.

You can try running Dell diagnostics on the drive. Press the F12 key at the Big Dell screen and select the diagnostics. It could be that the DVD portion of the drive has failed.
