prevent BIOS update reboot

I found an old post about this, I was wondering if something has changed and if we can now prevent BIOS updates from immediately rebooting a computer.  Ideally I push this via login script or SMS with no reboot as to not inconvenience the user.  The users reboot every night so they will get the BIOS flash/update then.  Thanks!
