(redirected) Alienware x51 R2- Will not boot to windows 8

I did some windows update for windows 8 after it finished installing it rebooted the pc. Now the PC will not boot all the way up after the logo screen it goes completely blank.  Ive restarted it multiple times  no luck.. I have been trying to figure out out to do a factory reset and no luck.  Ive researched and found from other forums you need to contact Dell and pay money for them to help you find the reset software. Anyone know how i can do a factory reset on the pc without having to call dell and pay money?
