350W PSU with 4850

will the q6600 stock power supply work with  a 4850? it says 450 watt power supply needed.  Also, do i have to get cable adapters?

In my opinion I would not push it with the stock 350 watter you have.  You can go with a 500 watter linked below.

What size monitor do you have ?  Powerful cards like wider monitors to pump up the resolutions and games eye candy.  Smaller monitors and the cards power potential is going to waste.  Just something to think of.

Just a kindly suggestion:

The Thermaltake 500w has 29amps, I believe your 350w has 28amps (correct me anyone if I'm wrong)

Purepower 500w W0100 ~29A

Maybe look at something like this:

GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI ~44A

It's $25 more after rebate but you get 15 more amps for that 4850.

Good point kpo127 for the other p/s suggestion.  Saw some members upgrading to the one I suggested, so me thinks it was good for the video card.  :smileytongue:  But your suggestion is well thought out on this one.

Thanks

I think the 4850 needs 500w with 30-32amps minimum.
