Compatible Memory For Optiplex 790

Hi Gang

Looking for compatible RAM for a 790. I think I remember reading that some Dell models are very particular 'finicky' about RAM manufacturer.

Would this be acceptable?

And is there a clause in the 3 year warranty that EXCLUDES any 3rd party hardware?

Thank You

Dell's are not as finicky as people make them out to be, if you mind the specs of the machine.  The one you linked to will work fine, as the 790 takes DDR3 10600/PC3-1333 memory, up to 4GB per slot, 16GB max.

Dell obviously will not warranty your third-party memory, but it will NOT void your system warranty.  Worst case scenario - if you ever have an odd issue that requires troubleshooting, where system memory is even remotely suspect, Dell may require you to have the original - or Dell-certified - memory installed to ensure the problem is not caused by the third-party memory.
