Desktop Wireless Card for Windows 7
Hello, I got an Inspiron 570 (to replace a stolen laptop) last week and it is great, the only issue is I got my dad to buy a wireless network card, but it appears it isn't compatible with Windows 7, a fact that was verified by Belkin after emailing their tech support.
I was wondering if there are any particular Desktop Wireless Cards that are recommended for Windows 7 and Dell Inspiron 570.

Why not use a USB connected wireless device. Eliminates having to install anything inside. HERE is an example of a an 802n USB device.

Your best bet is always to get a card that is the same make and type as your router. Most cards will work with win 7 you just might have to install the driver in compatibility mode
What is the make and model of your router?

I bought Rosewills and they all work with Windows 7, both 32- and 64-bit.

I"m cheap.
I buy cards from that big Company Taiwan.

Actually we got a new one this past week as we were upgraded to BT Fibre Optic Broadband, so it is a "BT Home Hub 2.0", and the white box says BT Openworld, other than that I am not sure unfortunately.
I might just try one of the suggestions that Belkin recommended.

Ok I didn't ask the right question. When I bought my dell desktop brand new online from dell there was a wireless pci card installed. It worked for a while then died basically. So I've been using the usb wireless routers but this is my 3rd one. Don't get me wrong they are cool but my kids keep breaking them bumping them (twin boys) so I found an old one from my boys old computer and it is a wireless g belkin pci card. It doesn't recognize it and I downloaded to disk the drivers for it and it still doesn't recognize it so this is why I was wondering if it is incompatible with my dell inspiron desktop.

PCI 2.1 5V only cards wont work.
$10 eidemax or similar USB wireless cards wont get broken off.
