Dimension E510 Motherboard replacement?
My E510 boots up but will soon (e.g. 10 mins) get the blue screen of death. I thought it may be a virus/driver problem so I installed Ubuntu on another disk and that will freeze after a short time. I figure it may be a motherboard issue. Not being familiar with replacing motherboards, I'd like to know if the microATX boards will fit/work in the E510 case, power supply, and front panel. I figure the SATA drive and CDROM are pretty standard and should hook up ok . I was looking at TigerDirect and the mobo/CPU combos look pretty reasonable (like Gigabyte's MA785GM-US2H Motherboard w/ AMD Athlon II 245 CPU w/Fan Bundle http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5024445&Sku=B69-3135) . Thanks for your help.

The motherboard shown in your link, is ATX form factor and will not into the e510 BTX case.
Better to use another Dell OEM e510 BTX motherboard, or buy an ATX case.
Plus when a non Dell motherboard is used, a new retail, or OEM copy of windows will needed, as Dell's OEM copies are tied to their BIOS.
