Dimension e510 video card upgrade

i have a dimension e510 and i am looking to upgrade it to a nice high end graphics card such as the 8800 gts or 8900 when it is released. i know that for this i am definitely going to need to upgrade my power supply. the only place that i have seen power supplies available is www.pcpowerandcooling.com. they have a 470 watt that is compatible. does anybody have experience with buying form this company? do you know if they are reliable and if it will work well with my computer. Also do u know if the 470 watt dell psu will be good enough for a high end graphics card. Please Help!.

if anybody knows of any other tested compatible power supplies with the e510 please tell me.

If it is important i have a pentium 4 3.4 ghz. 2 gigs of ram. 2 dvd drives. 1 250gb hard drive, the x600 se hypermemory graphics card, and the 305 watt power supply.

I found this post that answers your question.  For future reference do a search before posting.  Most questions have been asked and answered MANY MANY times.  Good luck with your upgrades.

Oh BTW PC Power & Cooling makes very good power supplies.  I have one in my 8300 and I am building a new system with one.  This being said I would not use a 470 watt power supply for one of the cards you mentioned.  Go to newegg or tiger direct and look for a quility power supply that meets your needs.

Your PC will not fit any Double Slot Video Cards.  I know as I have a E510.
So a 8800 would be out of the question even with a PSU upgrade.  About the most powerful card you can use at the present time is the Single Slot 7950GT 512MB.

If you wait a while there will more than likely be powerful single slot cards with DX10 out soon in the 8 Series.

i was told by a friend that the 8900 will be a single slot card. i was thinking about getting that one. i just ordered the ocz modstream 520 watt ps too. do u know when the 8900s are gonna be released by any chance?

and you are actually wrong, bfg released a single slot 8800 gtx that is water cooled. so i can get that one and it will fit right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143079
too bad the price is a little bit over the top.
