PSU on Inspiron 530 with Q6600 Processor

I was looking at purchasing a Inspiron 530 with the Quad core processor and I thought I read somewhere that that particular set up came with a different power supply that the other 530/531 models. Is this true or do all Inspirons utilize the same power supply?

PS: normal 530 and 531 come with a 305watts power supply and no pci e adapter.  530 with Q6600 comes with a different one 350W

It is true, my inspiron 530 with Q6600 came with a 350 W psu directly shipped from Dell. This particular model of PSu even has a 6 pin PCI-E adapter for video card.  even though I opted to upgrade to a more powerful power supply unit, The dell 350W powered my rig with 8800GT fine with no problem. Just plug in the 6 pin Pci-E adapter and ur good to go.

PS: u probably saw my posting somewhere lol...

Thanks for the info. I am planning on buying a GeForce 8600 GTS, with the 350 watt PSU I should hopefully be ok and not have to upgrade it right off the bat.

350W one powered 8800GT perfectly fine, 8600GTS will be piece of cake. With not much difference, i would highly recomment 8800T over 8600GTS. the bandwidth/bits double
