SYSTEM BOOTUP

UPON BOOTH UP, I RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:  c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSIEFR40.DLL MISSING, ACCESS DENIED.  HOW CAN I GET A RECOVERY DISK.

DIMENSION 4500 DESKTOP, 1.6 GB

For the future, please note that your question has little to do with the Dimension BIOS, the topic of this forum.  If the following doesn't help solve the problem, please post your question in the Software - Windows XP forum.  

msiefr40.dll is installed by a web parasite called Browser Aid.  See the following:

Spybot and Ad-Aware as referenced in the post by ChrisRLG at the top of the Virus Information and Removal forum shuould get rid of this parasite and all the other spyware and malware that you probably have on your computer:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.  HOW DO I GET THE SYSTEM TO BOOTH UP SO THAT I CAN GET TO THE CONTROL PANEL.
