Win 2000 & XP - HELP!

Hi there, I have a nice little inspiron 4150 and i am currently running two operation systems. Windows 200 and XP. I don't know why but i want to get rid of 2000. Would this be taking up memory space and slowing things down?
How can i delete 2000?
Help me please?

Step 1

First Boot to windows XP and download or purchase the Norton Partition Magic and delete the Partition which contains the windows 2000 and create a new windows xp NTFS partiton from the unpartitioned space and enjoy the space.

step 2

Boot using the windows 2000 Reinstallaton CD ,enter the setup environment,Follow the on screen instructions and delete the partition which shows the windows 2000 installation and boot to windows XP and Enter Disk management using the MMC Add snapin feature and Create a new NTFS Partition in the unpartition space and Go.

To answer your question about resources, it will take hard drive space, but not resources, per se, like memory when you're running XP. It won't be loaded when XP is so it won't be taxing anything.
