Hi,

Welcome to the community

If you are experiencing a spyware, virus, or malware issue and need help resolving it, there are a number of options available to you.

Dell provides some self-support content here:

Security 101: How to Protect Yourself Online: http://dell.to/rrLUSn

Dell Security Center: http://dell.to/ozpq5Z

And also offers fee-based support at:

Dell Solution Station: http://dell.to/q0YZSt

Dell does not recommend or endorse specific vendors for removal of malware, but there are some vendors we believe are worthy of mentioning as options:

Spywarehammer: http://spywarehammer.com/

Microsoft Security Scanner: www.microsoft.com/.../default.aspx

Microsoft Malware Removal: supportservices.microsoft.com/.../virus_malware_removal

Malwarebytes: www.malwarebytes.org

Regards,

Suggest you register at spywarehammer.com for free help removing malware.

Many of the experts over there also help here on Dell's forum so you'll be in good hands. Be sure to include the exact PC model and version of Windows in your first post, and read all their instructions before making your first post after they accept your registration.

Mention that you were referred to spywarehammer from the Dell Community.

Good luck!

That exploit gets in usually because you are running an old version of JAVA on your machine ... Microsoft Security Essentials is a free antivirus from Microsoft that can prevent Blacole ... you might try installing Security Essentials if you can get it to download and install. if not I would try to back up your data then reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows.

It can be fixed and that's less work than reinstalling.

Download the Windows Defender offline rescue disk to a clean computer and then boot the infected machine from it; it should find and fix the infection.

Thanks.  In researching this, i was going to delete the temp files in Java.  I don't think JAVA updates have been performed on this machine for a while.   i did try Security Essentials.  It foumd the virus but didn't remove it.

Here's a link to Windows Defender Offline.

If you have access to a clean computer, you can download it, burn it to disc and boot from it, and which it might just knock out your malware infestation. Note that Security Essentials and other anti-virus software can have a difficult time taking this kind of malware out while it's running.

If that doesn't work, I suggest the Spyware Hammer.
