no sound on Optiplex GX240

Need help....computer was running slow, processor seem to be bouncing on and off (hour glass blinking).  Reloaded windows xp from reinstallation cd, plus drivers.  Now computer is still running slow with no sound.  Not from speakers or internal.  Reloaded drivers from dell and still no sound.  Went through all the sound troubleshooting still nothing.  In Control panel sounds volume states no audio device and is grayed, audio states no playback device and is grayed, voice is the same.  Hardware states drivers are enabled.

 

Not very good at this.....can anyone suggest....thanks RogerGrad
