ECS backup

Hi

Today we have ATMOS and will shortly replace them with ECS.

Is there a way to backup data stored on a ECS system ?

Need due to security reasons get the data off the systems i case of disaster.

Please advise

Are you talking about a one time backup of data on an existing ECS?

Or are you asking about a method for continuous backup of ECS after you've replaced Atmos?

A single ECS replicates data across multiple nodes. Additionally ECS can have multiple sites (ie VDCs), that can be geographically distributed. You create a replication group (logical linking of storage between sites). Buckets belong to a replication group and any data written to that bucket will be replicated across the sites in that group (and the data on this site is also replicated across the nodes in this site)

Hi

We are today using replication to antoher Atmos System.

But I am looking for a way for continuous backup of ECS.

Need to get the data "off" the ECS box

Is it possible ?

ECS works in a similar manner as Atmos: data is replicated to a remote system.  There is no "backup" because it doesn't scale to 100s of Petabytes.

Hi

I do understand the backup issue due to the scalability.

But if want to get data off the system for som tenants is there a way to do that ?

Do not have to be a "backup" ,could be a copy of the data.
