Hello -

Our two new certification tracks, Cloud Architect and Data Center Architect, are open to everyone.  This link provides detailed information regarding the courses and certifications within these new tracks.  Information regarding the DCA exam you mentioned (E20-016) can be found by selecting "Data Center Architect (EMCDCA)".

As you mentioned both the Cloud Architect and Data Center Architect roles, you might interested in this post where Alok Shrivastava discusses Steps to Achieve EMCCAe - IT as a Service Expert Certification.

Best of luck on your journey!

Kind regards,

Hi Shahul -

Study materials for most of the DCA and CA curriculum are provided as part of an instructor led course.  At this time, that is the only way to obtain study materials.

The available purchasing options for a specific curriculum is located under the course details in a section titled "Recommended Purchase Options".

Best of luck on your journey Shahul!

Kind regards,

Debi

Shahul,

I just passed this test today and in my opinion the exam blueprint is really a good place to start with regard to what to study.

This blog post provides some additional insight into the exam: http://jasonnash.wordpress.com/2011/03/29/emc-cloud-architect-certifications/

I studied the topics covered on the blueprint for about a week and it was enough to pass the test.

Solid storage background is very helpful.  Definitely check the blue print for the exam.  My advise for as close to a slam dunk as you can get would be the ILT or VILT training, otherwise it could take a few attempts.  Its hard to know exactly what to expect until you take it and by that time you better know it or you could fail.

Do you need to pass all 4 of the Specialist Level exams to be an EMCDCA?

thanks! i noticed that you passed this exam. what are some of the whitepapers/study materials that you used to pass the storage networking track?

do proven professionals get some type of discount when purchasing training materials? i'm eyeing the ILT for the SND but 1600 is too steep for me.

No, they are four tracks.  You pass E20-001 and then pick a specialist exam.

Well, I leveraged most of my storage knowledge.  Its more of an open curriculem exam as opposed to EMC specific.  So in my studies for SNIA, and other certs it has helped alot.  Also being a TA and IE has helped as there is much info that applies.  Its very storage network specific, as opposed to storage array specific, and that is my strength, so I can't say I studied any one thing, I more or less just took the exam, it had only been out for a short time.  I wish I could be of more help there.

Good morning –

In order to achieve DCA certification, a candidate needs to hold the EMCISA Associate certification and then pass any one of the 4 DCA exams.

You can also view this page for more information on the DCA certification track.

Hi Debi,

Good morning,

I am a PM with the TSS-VSD India team. I am EMCISA Associate level certified and am looking for more details on the DCA training schedule and study material.

Basic idea is to specialize in EMCDCA Storage service management.

Would appreciate if you can provide more details on how can i get the training schedule (ILT/VITL).

Thanks

Ajay

BTW, please be aware that the EMC DCA (E20-016) exam, is more an "architects" exam, that an administrators' exam.

I took the training expecting it to compliment the Brocade product specific trainings I had already done. However it proved to be a much more architect oriented track. Comparing protocols, topologies etc, but also the business side of Storage Networking: ROI, NPV, governance and compliance to but a few topics.

A very good training!

You need to search for "Storage Networking Design" with id MR-1CP-DCASND

One of the most information packed trainings I ever had (led by Mary Andruszkiewicz, kudos!)
