Reading material and exam preparation

EMC world

Good afternoon!

My name is Wayne and I've been using EMC 7.x and 8.1 for some time at within the company I work for; I have a good understanding on EMC from installation to configuration but, I would like to take an exam (or at least prep' for it) for the client to have that paperwork to show that I actually know what I'm doing.

I've dug around and collated the following

Certification Path

================================================

EMC

EMC Proven Professional: Certification Exams and Practice Tests

|Backup Recovery - NetWorker Specialty

|

|Associate

|E20-005

|

|

|Specialist

|E20-597

================================================

I hope that someone can confirm if the above is what I should do. To be clear I just use the client but I understand the whole aspects of the setup we have in place such as;

- The whole connectivity (from vlans and ip addressing)

and

- The storage used (disks and tapes)

But just need to know if I'm going in the right direction.

Thank you in advance everyone.

Wayne

Hi Wayne - welcome to the EMC Proven Professional community!

Getting certified is a great way to demonstrate your skill set.  The exams you outlined above would lead to Storage Administrator, Backup Recovery - NetWorker Specialist Version 6.0 (EMCSA) when successfully completed.  Have you checked out the exam descriptions and the practice tests?  They can be found here and the practice tests are a great way to gauge your readiness to sit for an exam.

I'm not sure what pages you've been able to look through but this main page of our Education Portal leads to lots of great information regarding our program and benefits of getting certified.

Additionally - if the company you work for is a partner, you may want to speak to your management team about the correct certification path for you.

Keep us updated on your progress Wayne!

I've moved this to the Proven Adviser space so that the Proven Help Desk can provide you with the best possible answer.
