3D stereoscopic vision not working

Hi,

I just recently bought a new Dell Precision M6700 workstation and i tried to set up the 3 D stereoscopic vision using the Nvidia Control panel following all the instruction but i dont seem to find it working. The glass just blinks and nothing happens. If anyone has an idea how to fix it.

Hi Druk123,

Try the following and reply with results:

1. Make sure you have activated the IR emitter. Press the green ON/ OFF button on the front of the emitter. The emitter is on when the button is bright green.

2. Check and make sure that stereoscopic 3D is enabled. Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel Set Up Stereoscopic 3D screen

3. Re-evaluate your setup. Ensure there is direct line-of-sight between the IR emitter and your wireless glasses at a range of at least 1.5 feet (45cm) or greater. Any obstructions may cause the glasses not to function properly causing the lenses to flicker or turn off.

4. Do not place objects too close or in front of the emitter which could block the signal (e.g. keyboard, coffee mug, etc.). Also, make sure not to place your hand or other objects in front the of the IR receiver on the glasses; located near the front left lens.

5. Run the Setup Wizard to verify your hardware is operating properly. Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel (right click on the desktop). Select Set Up 3D Vision. Then select Run Setup Wizard from Test Stereoscopic 3D drop down menu.

If the issue persists, please reply with exact Model Number of the NVIDIA Graphics Card in the computer.

Hi Zoaib,

Thank you for the instructions but i cannot find the IR Emitter button in my Labtop workstation. Some says it has an inbuilt IR Emitter. My machine is Dell Precision M6700. Rest, I followed all what you have stated but still no results.

Model No of the NVIDIA Graphics card is NVIDIA Quadro K300M, Monitor is Generic PnP monitor

The graphics card you have is 3D capable however, your system was only offered the 44cm (17.3") UltraSharp FHD(1920x1080) 3D Vision Pro LED-backlit as an option.

Can you confirm which screen option your system shipped with?

Your system uses an RF transmitter rather than a IR transmitter, so there is no "button". Which 3D glasses are you using?

Hi Druk123,

Thank you for pointing out and my apologies for the mistake. Actually, the Precision M6700 3D Vision PRO Equipment does NOT come with “3D Vision Pro Hub” robust radio-based control hub and 3D Vision Pro is not compatible with the Infrared infrastructure of "consumer" 3D Vision.

As correctly pointed by Paul, you must have “UltraSharp 3D Vision Pro Display” and your computer should have “Dell 3D Vision Pro Mini Card”. Please reply with the details of the equipment you have, did you order the 3D Vision PRO Equipment with the computer?

I would like to mention that there is already an unanswered thread started some months back about precisely this topic. I face the same problem as the original poster in this thread.

I can confirm the following:

  • I have a M6700 which I specifically ordered with 3D Vision Pro equipment with the computer.
  • I have the "UltraSharp 3D Vision Pro" display, that is showing a 120Hz refresh rate.
  • Looking through the Device Manager, I found "NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro Embedded Hub", showing that "This device is working properly."
  • Also in the Device Manager, I found NVIDIA Quadro K5000M, showing that "This device is working properly."

I have searched for documentation on 3D Vision Pro, but every single one of them refers to the hub arrangement.

Please help. Many thanks.

Hi kutabar,

Thanks for the info I'll link that thread here en.community.dell.com/.../20409009.aspx

At this point we're not sure if the OP has ordered the correct option 3D display or the 3D Vison Pro equipment. Awaiting his response

If there is anybody from Dell monitoring this thread, could you please let me know if you know of someone somewhere who has managed to get the 3D Vision Pro working on a M6700? Thanks.
