Black screen on bootup

Hello. I have a Del XPS 15 laptop that I purchased just over a year ago. Few weeks ago it started doing this problem. When I turn my laptop on when it should be showing the Welcome to Windows screen, instead its just black, not turned off screen black though, you can seen that the screen is lit up.

Now I found a temp fix for this, when I close the lid and open it back up that picture comes back. The laptop also works fine when I connect it through a HDMI to my TV. The other day I also noticed that the image on the laptop screen started to get kind of fuzzy or flickering a bit, but you could only see it when there is motion on screen (in game for example).

So any idea what causes this behavior?
