Can't get projector to work in windows 7

I have a Precision M4300 that was recently updated to windows 7 ultimate. I can't get the projector to work. In the control panel under display there is no Projector listing. I switched the mobility to presenting. I have the connect to projector button attached to the task bar. but can't get any thing to happen when i click it. when i press win +P the window for the changing of displays does not appear and there is no out put to the projector. I use this computer in the office in a docking station and there is no problem when i dock it, it displays on my monitor on my desk. Any help would be appreaciated.
