Dell D430 laptop SATA or IDE?
I have a Latitude D430 with a manufacture date of 4/11/08. I found out after purchasing it that it does not have a normal 2.5" HDD, but rather a 1.8" 4200RPM drive. But, can someone tell me if this is SATA or IDE? Also, can I purchase a 160GB 5400RPM drive off ebay and use it in this system? If so, how hard would it be to change the hard drive?
TIA,
Larry

They are 1.8" ZIF EIDE dirves. Be VERY careful - there are multiple types of connector on these drives, and ONLY the ZIF connector type will work. The SATA drive will not work.
The hard drive is accessed this way:
