Dell Latitude E6420's FCC ID
Hi All,
I'm trying to get a Dell Latitude E6420 shipped from here in the KSA to the United States. Fedex is requiring us to give the FCC number of the laptop that we're going to send out. I tried checking the back of the laptop, where the Service Tag and the Express Service Codes are located, but the FCC ID number is not there. Would anyone be kind enough to provide me these details? Thanks!

If the label does not have an ID number then perhaps your dell is not actually a dell made by dell.
Not just FCC but UL, CSA, VDE, SEMKO, DEMKO Etc.
The Grantee Code for Dell is E2K
Therefore the ID number would be that kind of number.

I do not work for dell.
I do not have access to Dell's FCC files.
I do not have access to Engineering Documentation or Regulatory Information.
Importing and exporting Dell Products are usually NOT ALLOWED.

The FCC Sticker is UNDER THE BATTERY Same for the COA sticker.
Unless its a FAKE dell and not really made by dell but rather a knockoff.
Should have UL/CSA/VDE FCC Etc.

I believe the reason why everyone is having trouble locating their FCC number is because not all Dell Latitudes have one.
If you read the description listed here: http://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/help.html you will see that electronics that display a FCC logo- "Equipment displaying this label would NOT be in this database. The FCC would NOT have any record of this equipment. It is declared to comply with FCC regulations by the manufacturer or importer."
What this means is on your FCC form 740, the FCC ID field should be left blank, and the second box in Part II should be checked off. "An FCC grant of equipment authorization and an FCC ID are not required, but the equipment complies with FCC technical requirements"
