Dell inspiron 15r se 7520 switchable graphics question...

Hi

   If i go in device manager and disable the integraded intel graphic will the computer only run on the HD radeon graphic card? or will this mess up my display  thanks

The system won't run at all if you disable the Intel GPU.  All video data passes through the Intel GPU, by design.  The AMD GPU is just a co-processor.

There is no way to force the system to use the AMD GPU full time - it's not wired to work that way (only the Intel GPU is connected to the display panel - the AMD GPU has no physical connection to the display other than through the Intel GPU, which is part of the processor (and which in turn is permanently soldered to the system board).

So why did they put an extra graphic card if we can use it when we want?  thanks

You can use it per application - you set that up in the Catalyst control panel.  Some applications however, do not work with switching graphics - some not at all, while others may require and update or a version upgrade.  It's still a relatively new technology.
