Failure to configure windows updates
Inspiron laptop will not configure windows updates after installing updates. At start up laptop goes through two attempts to configure and then goes to sign in. Once so far, the laptop has shut down right in the middle of work to attempt configuring of windows.

Hi TLeoH,
If the system has Windows 7 Operating system follow the below steps-
(1) Reset the windows update components and check if it works.
(2) Access the below link and try the Fix it tool mentioned in the article to automatically reset the Windows Update components:

(3) Download and run System Update Readiness Tool. Here is an article to run check

(4) Also turn off all internet security suites and check.
(5) Simultaneously we can try to manually update it and one at a time.
(6) If none of the above steps work, system restore can be initiated which takes the system to a previous date where the system was working fine-
