Inspiron 15, touchpad doesn't work unless key is pressed
Hello, hope i can get some help. My Inspiron 15 laptop touchpad doesnt work when I boot my computer unless I press a key on the keyboard. Why is this?

Hi soliloquy,
I would suggest you to update the BIOS as this will hard reset the hardware on the computer. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS required onto the system and install it.

I must say thanks for responding to my query.
Icompleted the instructions but nothing worked. So I updated the mouse, keyborad and input devices and the mouse is moving freely now without me having to press a key but when i am trying to select an application I have to press a key first.
Any suggestion is appreciated

I would suggest you to check if you are facing this issue with any particular application.
Also, we need to check if the issue is caused due to any application installed on the system. So please clean boot the system using the link below.
