if you're brave enough to open up your laptop then check to make sure proper contact is being made between the jack and socket.

i have the same problem. but i think i may have broken my headphone jack, and might need to install a new sound card even.

anybody have any tips on how I could open up my computer and fix it?

im really trying to not have to spend $100+ on a soundblaster PC card :P

thanks in advance
