Touch screen issues

Just bought my wife a Laptop Studio 17 touch screen, and the touch part isnt working anymore and its been only 3 days in operation. Also if using a mouse, no pointer is on the screen. Is there a place to resolve this issue on the computer? I have gone to the control panel and to the pen and touch and nothing seems to get it to work. Help anyone??
