Windows 10 on Vostro 3350

I've successfully installed Windows 10 but there's no screen display. All is fine if I connect to the TV which is ok for occasional use but it isn't portable!

Will new display drivers be provided by Dell, or is there some workaround?

I'd rather not revert to Windows 7 Professional, as my standalone PC is now running version 10.

Hi Bob Fearnside,

Dell Vostro 3350 has not been tested for Windows 10 operating system. However, we will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer to check if the LCD screen is good. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.

  1. Turn of the computer.
  2. Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
  3. You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if the issue reoccurs on the screen.

Also, Uninstall the video card driver on the system and install the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode.

Hi Bob Fearnside,

I would suggest you to check for the audio by installing the Windows 7 audio drivers in compatibility mode.

This is common issue with old BIOS and/or W10 faulty drivers.
See solutions here:

For audio I'm using default W10 drivers installed during clean install.

My audio is defined in device manager as :

High Definition Audio Device Driver for Dell Inc. - Vostro 3350

  • HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76D1&SUBSYS_102804B2&REV_1002

Try to remove device from device manager and then reboot.
For better compatibility of new devices connected to machine disable "Fast Startup" feature:

Let me know it it helped.

PS: For clean install I've used latest W10 copy downloaded from MS (10.0.10240.16549)

Earlier builds (10.0.10240.15xxx) had some issues on my 3350 - e.g. error of missing USB 3.0 drive with OS installer during install etc.

Hi,

I had the same problem on v3350 with intel Core i7 on board. I followed the suggestion to update BIOS to A10. 10 minutes job and 100% satisfaction.  It works now like it should.

Hi,

Sorry to say it didn't as I upgraded the bios to V10 about a year ago.

Very frustrating. A friend suggested I try a wi-fi dongle & see if that works?
