dell inspiron 6000 won't stay on...turns itself off automatically
I recently installed some new ram, following instructions. When I turned my computer on, it wouldn't do anything so I took the new ram out, put old ram back in, now the computer turns on, lights up, then turns itself off.

Can you get into the bios by pressing f-2 at start up?,If so see what it says for ram. If in bios you might want to reset to factory defaults and reboot. The ram you installed was most likly not compatible,if you do get it to see the old ram and work right look at www.crucial.com and run there auto system check for upgrade,or for that matter install dell service center app and let it tell you the ram upgrade...let us know how your making out...rich:emotion-1:
