inspiron 5520

I've bought inspiron 5520 few months ago. The quick launch buttons (three buttons on top right corner) were working properly then.

The back light in those keys are working but the function of those are not responding.

Also, i couldn't turn on bluetooth. The option is always disabled.

Can some1 pls help me solve these problems...?

Hi venkat.16,

In addition to what Paul has said, if the Quickset is already installed in the computer, uninstall the existing Quickset drivers first and then reinstall. This should ideally solve the problem. Please follow the below mentioned steps to uninstall and reinstall Quickset:

  • Click Start, type Programs and Features, and press Enter (for Windows 7)
  • Press Windows key + X key together to access Power user menu, and click Programs and Features (for Windows 8)
  • Right click “Dell Quickset”, and click “Uninstall”.
  • Restart the computer after the uninstallation.
  • Use the following link to download and reinstall Quickset: http://dell.to/18yrWhO

Regarding the issue with Bluetooth, may I know how are you trying to switch on the Bluetooth? After reinstalling Quickset, press the first button off the three quick launch buttons to open "Windows Mobility Center", here you will find option to enable/disable Bluetooth.

To fix quick launch buttons, install Quickset drivers here www.dell.com/.../inspiron-15r-5520

Uninstalling and re-installing the Bluetooth drivers should fix the problem. There are 4 different drivers listed for your system. Choose the appropriate driver for your hardware here (see Network category)

@KALAYAN S

To open bluetooth i'll just go to

under charms SETTINGS--->CHANGE PC SETTINGS--->WIRELESS

and then switch the slide bar near the option BLUETOOTH.

i've downloaded the driver from the link u've mentioned but it is not installing properly.

its showing error code 110.

Error Code 110 whilst trying to install drivers usually indicates a faulty driver. Are you sure you are installing the correct driver for your hardware?

Please provide a link to the driver you are trying to install. As mentioned earlier there are 4 different drivers on Dell's site dependent on your hardware.

What wireless device is in your system?

You don't know what wireless hardware is in your laptop?

Go to Device Manger in Control Panel, expand the "Network Adapters" category and post a screenshot.

We will attempt to identify your hardware and post the relevant link for the driver.

Hi venkat.16,

To find out the Wireless Card installed in your computer:

  2. Enter the computer’s Service tag and click “Submit”
  3. Click “System Configuration” tab, and click the arrow next to “Components”

You will be able to view the configuration of the system here. Try installing the appropriate driver for the wireless card mentioned in the configuration and let us know the results.
