keyboard driver issue after installing windows 8

Question

i recently upgraded my dell inspiron 15r from windows7 to windows8. the keyboard of my laptop is not working properly. keys ' @ '  and ' ' ' have been interchanged. this happens even if i use an external keyboard. there are no keyboard driver upgrades available. please help thankyou

the problem still persists. i tried changing my location to US.
