Inspiron 7000 series laptop black screen with keyboard backlight on.

When I press the power button, just the backlight of the keyboard turns on with no display on the screen and it stays blank.
I’ve tried doing the BIST test which runs perfectly but the laptop goes back to the blank screen after the test.
I can hear the processor running so I hope it’s not a motherboard issue.
Tried connecting it to an external monitor too, nothing on the screen.
What’s seems to be the problem? And how do I fix it or get it fixed?

It's a bad mainboard -- if under warranty, call Dell for repair.  If you need a part reference, post the complete model number (7765, etc.) and the CPU you have and someone can find the correct replacement board.

Thank you for your message. I will be glad to look into this for you.

The display is working fine & this seems to be an issue with the motherboard.

If you are comfortable, remove the memory & start the computer check if there are beeps heard.
