Is it possible to turn on XMP profile on this laptop ? UEFI does not have option to turn it on/off. Default single channel 16 gb ram runs only at 1200, CPU can handle 2400 and the ram itself can handle it.
Even if it's possible, it won't help. DDR means double data rate -- the RAM effectively runs twice the actual clock speed. So your DDR 2400 is running just fine, if the clock is showing 1200.
If you don't see a BIOS option for it, then it's not possible, and since that's intended more for serious gaming setups, you might only find it on Alienware systems, and perhaps not even there. However, XMP adjusts memory TIMINGS, not memory clock speeds, technically XMP could improve performance a bit if it were available -- although your memory modules would also have to contain a separate set of XMP timings.
