Inspiron battery. Real or duplicate

I recently had my battery replaced by a popular well know pc repair shop. I asked before proceeding if the battery would be an original Dell. They said yes.

Laptop is a inspiron13 7368 2-in-1

The battery installed was a 42Wh

My touch screen would work intermittently after replacement, sometimes the cursor would do its own thing and screen freeze. The battery power would display at 90%, then maybe 50%, then back up to 90%.

Now my laptop will not switch on, no back keyboard lights, nothing except the power light at the front with the charger plugged in.

Having taken the cover off the battery does not have Dell written anywhere on it. It has a sticker saying manufacturer Dongguan Loewe Electronics from China.

Looking on Dells website, their batteries have Dell on them

Is my battery a cheap copy? Can this battery damage my laptop?

Any advice appreciated?

Thanks.

It's a third party battery;  any answer as to potential issues or damage:  contact your battery supplier.

At a minimum, unplug the system and disconnect the battery from the system board.  Hold the power button for 30 sec and see if the system will power up on AC only. If it will, then reconnect the battery and try again.

If the battery halts powerup, contact your supplier.
If the system still won't power up on AC only, you have a mainboard issue, not a  battery issue.

I took the battery out. Pressed power button for 30 seconds to get rid of any power left.
plugged in power chord, power light illuminates for a second. Won’t switch on.

unplugged chord, kept power button pressed and plugged chord in. The fan kicks in, nothing else.

Removed chord, held in power button to get rid of power. Connected battery, pressed power button with no chord connected, nothing.
‘plugged in chord while battery connected, nothing.

‘Removed battery again, tried with chord only. Fan starts up again. Nothing else. No keyboard or screen.

‘Any ideas to try anything else?

I am thinking the battery has caused the issues. It worked fine with flat dell battery and power chord. All issues were after the replacement.

I am from the UK. Because I purchased the laptop in the US the UK agent was not interested and would not supply a battery.
on my return to the US is when I took it in for the replacement, then went back to UK. This is why I could not take it back with the issues.

‘I am back in the US now. I will contact the store to ask why they supplied a non Dell battery but I guess they’ll deny it has caused any issues.
