Network Driver for WiFi 6? Dell Inspiron 5558 with Windows 10 can't "see" my upgraded network

I set up an Orbi Wireless-6 mesh system this weekend (1 router, 2 satellites) and everything connected beautifully - except my Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop.  It cannot see or connect to the new Orbi network (note that the new Orbi network has the same name as the old one).  It can see other networks in the neighborhood, but not the new Orbi network.

I thought perhaps I need a new network driver, but there aren't any drivers available that will install on my machine.

Anyone else having this issue???  Thanks in advance!

I did some more digging and this is a known issue for intel cards with older drivers (which I will assume you have given you are experiencing this problem).  The problem is described here:  https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000054799/wireless/intel-wireless-products.html ("Intel® Wireless Adapter Supporting 802.11ac Isn't Showing Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) Capable Wireless Routers and Access Points When Displaying Available Networks").

Depending on which card you have, you need an intel driver later than 20.70.0.5, later than 19.51.14.1, or later than 18.33.13.4.  (Dell-provided drivers may use different numbers).  Go to device manager (click the "start/windows" button, type device manager), click "network adapters" to expand it, and see what type of wireless card you have.

Assuming you have 64 bit windows, if you have an Intel AC 9560, 9462, 9461, 9260, 8265, 8260, 3165, or 3168 try these drivers:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30208/Windows-10-Wi-Fi-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-Adapters

If you have a 7265 card, it's complicated.  Revision D can use the above link.  Revision C can use this link:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28822/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-7265-Family-Rev-C-  It may be easier just to try both packages, but this link explains how to tell which you have (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026395/wireless.html)

If you have an AC 3160, try this link:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28817/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-3160?wapkw=AC%203160

If you have something else, tell me, though that covers (I think) all of the affected products listed in the Intel article.

Does it work if you disable AX on your orbi network?  If so, that's a stop-gap.

Do you know how to check what kind of wifi card you have?  It is usually intel or broadcom based (judging by the drivers dell makes available for your model.). If intel based, you can download the most recent drivers directly from intel.  If broadcom based, it will be harder to find updates but may be possible depending on which specific card you have.

The specs say you have an NGFF wifi slot.  That is good. If worse comes to worse, it's easy to buy a wifi 6 card and replace what you have.  AX200 cards are under $20 on Amazon and will let you see wifi 6 speeds.

nemisisdb: THANK YOU so much!  I finally had a chance to try this tonight and the driver from the Intel site worked- it was just an outdated driver.  Many, many thanks!  So appreciate your time and answer.  Thank you!

Thanks for all the great advice! We tried employing it, but unfortunately I have an n-7260 card. Is there a fix for that?
