Toshiba NVME ssd is very slow in G5 5590
M NVME SSD Came with Dell G5 5590 ''KBG30ZMS256G_NVM0105'' has very slow write speed. Even my previous SATA SSD had more writing speed than this. I contacted dell technical support and they told they can't help me as neither dell nor toshiba releasing firmware update. Can anyone suggest me a solution
Check below Screenshots please.

Welcome to the Dell Community @jobin481g
Not sure if it will help but there is a firmware update.
Toshiba KBG30ZMS128G, KBG30ZMS256G and KBG30ZMS512G Solid-State Drive Firmware Update:

up and Swap it out for a Samsung Best and fastest. No other manufacturer even comes close to Samsung Performance.

Dell is cheating by providing cheap SSD.

You have the following OEM SSD, (35PK2 256GB, Toshiba BG3 KBG30ZMS256G, M.2, NVMe, PCIe-32, 2230, 22mm/30mm/2.38mm) running on a Dell OEM motherboard and BIOS. So what we need to see from other Inspiron G laptop users is someone with the same SSD and their result of the 3rd party AS SSD benchmark software.

Since there are no firmware updates that might or might not make your SSD any faster. You must have a defective SSD?
Now then that leaves you with a choice Send it in for replacement or just do it your self and eat the price of a quality SSD
I looked up your model service manual, I don't have and you shouldn't send my your service tag number for exact details however the general service manual shows that you have a 2280 PCIe M.2 NVME SSD Slot

I've got the same PC, with the disk KBG30ZMS256G Toshiba BG3 Series 256GB TLC.

Those are correct speeds for 2.5 SATA SSD, I've never had a SATA m.2 so i'm not sure what that would be. m.2 NVME depending on brand. I only know about Samsung I have a Samsung 960 Pro 1 512GB and 850 Pro 1 TB the 960 is M.2 NVME and benches and the 850 2.5 SATA SSD
With that, it appears your SSD is probable running only 2 lanes and still it should be 3 times as fast With 2 lanes you should be running 1500 1000 Real World 1200 900
You possibly have a defective SSD if your system is running in UEFI mode as well I would post on the Toshiba support Forum or contact their tech support

Yes i am UEFI because this is the new BIOS standard.
It should not be a problem.
The problem is elsewhere.

I would then look to the SSD manufacturer for support. This is my Hynix m.2 NVME that came with my 13 7386 in my signature. This SSD is only 2 lane it's in a 4 lane slot. This is what Dell gave me for an upgrade from 256 GB to 512GB forced me to buy a Samsung 970 Evo m.2 NVME 4 lane that makes a big difference at least in Benchmarks

Hello.
I've got the Toshiba NVME ssd. So you mean that bench for this disk should be twice better than i showed ?
I should find the bench for this ssd drive on the net to check.
I found a model close to but not the same.
speed model XG5 NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB are quite the same arround 500MB/s
(https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/358656/KXG50ZNV256G-NVMe-TOSHIBA-256GB)
On this web site : https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/628odr/toshiba_nvme_slow_write_speed_fix/
I've to check
On the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1Gq8Py7tnU
Speed seems arround 500 MB/s.
So seems that this Disk cannot do more.
Do you agree ?

SSD are not all equal, there is a reason that Samsung if the hands-down best SSD's Both NVME and SATA. I'm pretty sure the Toshiba is only running in two lanes, to get the maximum speed with NVME 4 lanes are required
even using 2 lanes 1200Mbs down 600 Mbs Up or better

If you see the links i posted, it seems this SSD is slow, and old, so speed is arround 500MB/s. R/W
We cannot have more.
I don't care me because it is sufficient and much more than HD, but people could be upset of course.
If you find this SSD at 1 000 MB/s. I'll be happy.
