Press the windows key +r in the run box type devmgmt.msc in the device manager expand network adapters doubleclick your wireless network adapter and in the properties dialog choose power management tab there uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" confirm with ok and reboot .
What is the exact model of your laptop, without that diagnosing the problem is almost impossible? In addition does your Wi-Fi adapter show up in Device Manager? Are you seeing any errors when you try to connect to an Internet source?
Go to Start Menu, type in Services and open it up. In the Services window, locate the WLAN Autoconfig service. Click Apply and then hit OK. Check if this fixes the issue.

@confuseduser43 advice is spot on.
