In every image i see, there is some light bar at the bottom of the laptop yet on my laptop, I can't see it.
kriispydud, the Inspiron G5 15 5500 has to be purchased with an RGB Backlit keyboard to have the light bar. You purchased the standard US Backlit Keyboard.
It depends on how you optioned the system at purchase. From Dell, these are available with three different keyboards (non-backlit, monochromatic backlit, or RGB backlit). Which keyboard did you choose at purchase?
If you purchased at retail, the configurations may differ, but the bottom line is that the Alienware effects are dependent on having the RGB backlit keyboard.
You can use your service tag number to look up its original configuration.
The Dell AWCC + OC Controls updates did not install correctly. Please try the following:-
(1) Uninstall Dell AWCC + OC Controls. Then Restart to save this update within Windows.
(2) Open Local admin account, go to Dell Support Drivers & Downloads and download AWCC + OC Controls updates to your G5 15 5500. To ensure the integrity of your download, visit the update webpages and verify the file checksum value. If they are not identical, download again until they are identical. Click on AWCC update and Run as administrator, wait for install successful window to appear. Click on OC Controls update and Run as administrator, wait for install successful window to appear. Then Restart to save this update within Windows.
Hopefully, all the functions of the AWCC application have been fully reinstated. Open AWCC FX tab to check it has been restored.
Hi @kriispydud the AWCC FUSION tab requires OC Controls. When installed, the AWCC and OC Controls are listed in the Start Menu and in the Control Panel, Programs and Features.

Did your new Dell G5 15 5500 arrive with its keyboard backlights working and have these now been disabled by installing the current AWCC update?
