If you cleaned off the hard drive (reinstalled Windows and wiped everything off the drive), it shouldn't be asking for a password. If you are trying to use a Microsoft Account during the initial setup, disconnect the computer from the Internet (unplug Eithernet cable and/or turn off WiFi) and continue with setup. This will force the computer to create a local account without the Microsoft Account integration. Once you find out what your password is, you can later associate the local account with it by going to the settings app and selecting accounts.
