Isilon Node as home network NAS

I have the opportunity to buy a Isilon IQ108NL NAS Storage System Node for a fairly low price (no drives).

I was wondering if this device is easy enough to setup as a standalone NAS for a home network. I realise 36 drives is fairly excessive for a home network.

I have looked everywhere for manuals etc for this device, but I couldn't really find much at all....

Any assistance would be great!

Hello DJ_Mutiny,

This model of the Isilon system was EOL in 2017.  If you have setup an Isilon system before then you could setup this system.  However, without having any drives you will need to download and install the Isilon Operating Environment, & to get that you need to have an active support contract on your system.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
