SmartQuota Notifications

hello everyone.

I wondering if anyone can help me get email notifications working.  I can get the advisory exceeded to work but I can't get either a hard denied or a hard exceed to email out.

I guess I am doing something wrong, anyone able to help?

SmartQuota Configuration

• Directory Quota of 20mb, Advisory set to 10mb
• Notification 1 - Hard Denied

Rule type	hard-denied
Create cluster event	Yes
Notify owner	Yes
Email addresses	email address
Schedule	Every 1 days at 12:00 PM
Notification delay	5 seconds
Message template	/ifs/data/email/quota_email_Full.txt

• Notification 2 -  advisory-exceeded

Rule type	advisory-exceeded
Create cluster event	Yes
Notify owner	Yes
Email addresses	email address
Schedule	Every 1 days at 12:00 PM
Notification delay	5 seconds
Message template	/ifs/data/email/quota_email_Full.txt

Test:

• Files copied : 11 mb
• Email alert sent out for Advisory exceed
• Files copied until a message on the file shares says unable to write as need more space
• No Email Alert sent out

I have tried removing the Advisory alert and just having the denied write but it still doesn't work

Which Isilon system do you have?  What is your current OE version?

Thanks for the document, everything was configured correctly so I rebooted the Isilon unit and now it works as expected
