65watt or 90 watt adaptor ??

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 (with Intel Graphics 4000) which is bundled with a 65 watt adapter. I have another adapter of 90 watt with myself.
Is it safe to use 90 watt with my Dell 3521 laptop ? Or are there any risks ?

Hi sarthakpani92,

It is not advisable to use 90 watt AC adapter on your system. If the system board is configured with discrete video card then you will need 90 watt AC adapter as I see that your system is only configured with Integrated HD graphics 4000 it would support 65 watt AC adapter only. Using 90 watt AC adapter on your system may make the system board faulty.

As long as your 90W power adapter is an original Dell or a Dell compatible third party product you can use it.In fact you could even connect a 130W or 240W adapter to your system. So don't throw it away.
