7559 Video selection
My 7559 has two display adapters. Intel and Nvidia. How do I know which is in use? How can I select the one I want?

Hi ALFISCHER,
Well, its probably an amazing gift to your grandson.
You could download the service manual, specification manual and the quick start guide here - http://dell.to/24b8q7H

Hi ALFISCHER,
This technology is known as Optimus - read more here -
Basically, if the processor in use is set to Auto - then the Intel will work when you use simple applications and it will automatically switch to Nvidia when any application or game requires more graphical power.
You could change the options in nvidia control panel - launch the program by right clicking on the desktop - see this pic for reference - http://bit.ly/248DYeG

Thank you! That is an interesting piece of technology. My Alienwaare M18 has a simple function key to change video adapters.
This laptop is for my grandson who starts college this fall and I KNOW some games will magically appear on it somehow!
It would be helpfull if Dell could provide a manual for their systems that would explain what it has and how to manipulate it.

Look in the Dell folder in the "all apps" from the start bar -- there should be a full HTML manual on the system already.
