7720 17R SE switch lids?

I currently own 17R SE 7720 Dell.

So far soo good. It serves me well.

However I can not unotice that like other Dell laptops it has the option of switching lids.

But I can not find any new lid panels for the 17r SE.

However I can find some for the "standard" 17R.

Are they compatible? Can I buy a lid panel for 17R and put it on the SE one?

Experience with this people?

Hi VENOMs7000,

As per the system specifications, both Inspiron 7720 and 5720 have the same dimension. So the switchable lids should be compatible. The Inspiron 7720 comes with Aluminum-based Switch LCD back Lid by default. Whereas the Inspiron 5720 gives you an option to choose an additional Switch LCD back Lid with different colors. Since the back lids are changeable, you should be able to use them with Inspiron 7720.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any other questions.

My wife has a 17R N7110 and I have the 17R SE 7720. I think the 7110 lid is not compatible but as Amogh stated the 5720 lid should be. I will double check with the lid from my wife's 7110 and see if that one is compatible with the 7720.

Hi Rafterman414,

Inspiron N7110 is the older version of Inspiron 17R. You may not be able to use the switch LCD back lid for Inspiron N7110 on Inspiron 7720. However, you may try to use it with Inspiron 7720.

Please reply if you have further questions. I will be glad to assist.

So in conclusion,

the Dell 17r 5720 lids are 100% compatible with 17r SE, but the N7110 are NOT??

Is that it?

I just need to be sure.

Shame that Dell does not have anything for males "manly" for 17R 5720. While the N7110 has some nice lids to offer.

P.s - does anyone know a good website with more lids for 17R?

Hi VENOMs7000,

The switchable LCD back lid for Inspiron N7110 may not be compatible with Inspiron 17R SE.

However, LCD back lid for Inspiron 5720 should be compatible with Inspiron 17 R SE.

Please reply if you have any other questions. I will be glad to assist further.

The N7110 never had a switch lid option.  On those systems that do, there is a slide latch for the back cover at the top center of the screen.

1. Is there any lids that fit the N7110? I realize you've already replied to the same question about a hundred times but the responses make it seem that the 5720 lids will not be compatible with the N7110.

2. I cannot find a lid for my N7110. Why do you no longer have availability for that? People still have the computers.
