Audio on 7520 after Windows 10 upgrade

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. Following the upgrade, the dell Audio tool has stopped functioning properly. I am unable to change pre-set EQs. Waves Max Audio 4 has stopped functioning completely. Does anyone know a fix for this issue?

Hi Steve,

I would suggest you to install the Windows 8.1 audio driver in compatibility mode. I would suggest you to update the BIOS and audio driver on the system. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the Windows 8.1 Operating System, then download the BIOS from BIOS section and audio driver from audio section onto the system and install it.

Please let me know if this helps.

Dear Ravi,

Thank you for your response. I tried everything you said. Unfortunately, my audio still has the same problem.

Is there a new driver available?

Regards,

Steve Stanley

I'm gonna say plain as it is: Dell just failed to produce and release a Windows 10 driver for the Conexant Audio yet.

It's a shame! No "support" given. "Something" else aswell. Probably would need to pay "Conexant" for doing it and they don't want to due of profit issues. Prove me wrong!

Looks like you are right. I have problems with graphics card too. Every time I install a new version of Windows, my AMD catalyst manager disappears. I have to go to the dell support website and manually download the driver. The dell update tool is useless. It has not updated anything for me. I am truly disappointed with this laptop. Powerful hardware is being wasted due to software issues.

Hiya,

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 and also lost the audio when I upgraded to Win10.

But I just found a solution that worked!  I downloaded the drivers from this link and now my audio is back again finally, download the 2nd 28MB file:

Hope this helps?

Best regards

Hi Steve,

I would suggest you to check the audio device found under the device manager.

In addition, Please run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned in the video below and check if there is any issue with the memory on your system.

Also, I would suggest you to run a thorough test on the system. You can download Support Assist from the link below and run the PC CHECKUP on system to check for issues

Please let me know if this helps.

Dear Ravi,

There were no issues shown by PC check-up. I feel as though I need new drivers. Kindly issue me a new audio driver for Windows 10.

Hi all. Did you try updating all the other Windows 10 hardware drivers(BIOS, Intel Management ,etc) from Dell's website?

I do have a dell 7520 and i upgraded to windows 10 (build 10240) when released then November update build 10586. I faced the same problem, I uninstalled conexant HD Audio and reinstalled it. Used win 8.1 supported driver from dell site using service tag. Now its working well without any issue. Try it..

Hi all. Just wanted to let you know that my Max audio is working again. Sad part is that I don't know what fixed it. I have been getting windows updates regularly. One day I connected a bluetooth speaker and boom!
