Crucial MX100 SSD Sata Will NOT boot on Dell Inspiron 1545

Hitting a wall installing a new SSD. Here's what I have:

Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop

New Crucial MX100 SSD Sata 6GB

WD Passport external hard drive back-up

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 disc (most recent upgrade for me)

Dell Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS reinstall DVD

Here's the scenario (and problem):

I insert the new Crucial SSD in tray from original hard drive. I reinstall the 'Dell Windows 7 Home Premium OS DVD' (as laptop now will not recognize the 'Microsoft Office Home and Student' disc). I reinstall Windows from the Dell dvd. and then am instructed to remove the disc and computer will restart. When the computer restarts, I received the black screen with 'NO BOOT' from hard drive message. This is after I acknowledge BIOS sees the new SSD, and attempts to change the boot order around.

Can someone offer advice in layman's terms?

Thank you in advance.
