Dell 15R 6 Cell Battery

I bought Dell inspiron 15R 5520 last week .. The battery (6 cell) is taking around 3Hrs 20mins and I am getting 2 hrs backup.. Can any one tell me is this normal.. or i have been fooled by  Dell.. pls reply!!

Thanks for the reply. Actually i bought laptop with ubuntu 11.10 OS not with windows. And Processor is i5(3rd gen).

So 3 hrs of chargin and backup of 2 hrs is fine ??

do you know any configurations for ubuntu to increase performance.

Hi rajatkapoor,

6 cell battery charge under typical operating conditions should run up to 2.5 to 3 hours. However if the battery is used to run videos and high-end games it will drain faster.

Ensure the system has the latest BIOS version. To check the BIOS version, click Start and type 'msinfo32' in the search box. In the system information page, the BIOS version is listed with the release date.

Hi RajatKapoor,

I personally never got to work on Ubuntu but after little research I could find some threads that has few options to increase the battery performance. Have a look at these links:
