Dell Inspiron 11z (1110) Max RAM

I have a Dell Inspiron 11z (1110) with 4 gigs of RAM. I'm getting mixed readings about the max this netbook can handle. Some websites say that it has a max of 4 gigs when other websites say it has a max of 8 gigs. I ran a crucial system scan and it says the netbook has 2 slots with a 4 gig module in one and the other slot empty but I don't really trust Crucial since they have been wrong many times before.

For instance, I had an old Asus laptop and ran the scan, it said I had 4 slots when I only had 2. I also ran the scan on my HP laptop and it says the max is 8 when the max really is 16.

Does anyone know the max for 1110? And if it does have a max of 8, does anyone know how to access the RAM slots?

The system has only one memory socket - 4G max.

The memory socket is under the keyboard.

Depends on how much of a gambler you are, and on the seller's willingness to accept a return that doesn't work.  Dell and Crucial both say 4G, max.

Hm, I wonder why they sell 8GB modules on eBay for the 1110 then.

Your purchase is as safe as the vendor's willingness to accept a return - you would likely be out the shipping charge both ways if it doesn't work.

Yeah I know Crucial and Dell says 4 is the max but websites I've never heard of say it's 8. Like www.memorystock.com and www.kahlon.com.

Here's a ss of the Crucial system scan....

A few things on their scan is wrong. It says the max RAM is 1 but the current installed RAM is 4. And it also says it has two slots with one being empty. Also, the type of RAM that it says it uses is wrong.

Actually there are a lot of people stores on eBay that would take the return and are free shipping. So I might just try, but 4 gigs on a netbook is still a good amount so I might just stick with the way it is.
