Dell Inspiron 1545 Motherboard encryption

Hello.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 (INS1545-A2RE) with a Samsung 850 250GB Evo drive with it. The drive supports encryption/data security and I chose the Class 0 option which sets a password in the BIOS.

This is what I have been told by Samsung support

"The AES encryption on the SSD is active all the time. But as long as there is not password set by the user, the data is open to access. In order to set a password a compatible hardware encryption supporting motherboard is required. This information needs to be cleared with the manufacturer of the motherboard."

I can set a password on the hard drive however, it needs a compatible hardware encryption motherboard. I'm not sure if mine does support hardware encryption or not, can anyone help me with this? Otherwise, I just set a password and it will be useless.

Is there any other way I can confirm this hard drive is encrypted or not?
