Dell Inspiron 1764 touchpad draglock problem

I have a problem with the touchpad of my Inspiron 1764. I deactivated the draglock setting in the Dell touchpad settings, but my touchpad still seems to be able to drag things around. It's quite annoying.

I did install the latest software from the Dell site, but the problem is still there.

I run into this problem too unfortunately. Are you still having problems or know how to fix it?

Remove the Dell driver and install the Alps driver from Toshiba:

It doesn't completely fix the draglock problem, but you can adjust a lot more settings to minimze the problem.

Yes, this is very annoying.  Is there any fix on this, other than loading a Toshiba driver?  I have a problem on an E6500, and I just ordered an E6410. I will be extremely disappointed if this happens on the new machine.
